Immersed in Nature: Ecological Restoration

Ages: Grades 5 – 12

Program description: Students will participate in hands-on ecological restoration of selected sites around the Cowichan Valley. Students will become familiar with native plant species, planting requirements and techniques. Grounding activities will elucidate the importance of restoration work and help students connect themes of environmental conservation, habitat restoration, biodiversity and ecosystem health. Our school can pay $8 per learner, and provide our own transportation to the restoration site

Our school would like to apply for a Bursary. Our Bursary Fund is for students and classes who face barriers to participating in our programs, prioritizing students from Indigenous, new immigrant, and low-income families. To apply for a Bursary, please indicate below the reason your group, or a portion of your group, is in need of a bursary, and how many students you are applying for bursary support for learner fees and/or for transportation costs.
